Sanctions on Palestine

Uncle sam and his jing-bang is at it again.This time the target is palestine.Recently the palestinians held general elections and Hamas which contested elections for the first time, clinched power.However, since the Israeli government has been at loggerheads with the Hamas- the US,EU and Israel have decided not to recognise the Hamas government and have imposed sanctions on Palestine.The issue over here is not whether Hamas has fudged the results,manipulated and come to power but of human values.If the US can give billions of dollars to countries like Pakistan,Egypt,Saudi Arabia,Kuwait which have their own "democratically" elected leaders then why not have the same benevolence for Palestine.Everybody agrees that the Hamas is a violent organistaion whose sole purpose is the destruction of Israel.However ,by imposing sanctions on Palestine,the US and Israel will not cripple the Hamas.It will only create problems for the citizens of Palestine.
The issue over here is not of any holy land or right of existence of a country.Israel,like any other country of the world has a right to exist peacefully with the rest of the world.Similarly,Palestine also has to be given its share of land.Both the countries need to live together without any acrimony for each other.However,such steps taken by the US and its allies will only further aggravate the situaion.If hamas has come to power through elections,then the US and Israel should respect the decision of the Palestinians and not try to impose their views over people of other countries.By doing such things,the US and Israelis are indirectly responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent children,women and men who have been starving since the government has been unable to pay them wages for the last 2 months.These steps will only cause more strife and suffering for the people.
This kind of behaviour is not expected of countries like the US which prides itself on its democratic setup,freedom and liberty.
